Patented Super Critical Fluid Technology KD Pharma designed, developed and patented the use of Super Critical Fluid (SCF) Technology for the extraction and purification of PUFAs (Poly Unsaturated Fatty Acids), particularly Omega-3s, and branded this process: kd-pür. The kd-pür technology allows for the gentle extraction of Omega-3 oils in their utmost purity and concentration (up to 99%). The kd-pür technology involves a two (2) step process for extracting and refining highly purified Omega-3s from fish oil. Both steps use carbon dioxide in a super critical state so called supercritical CO2. This advanced technology gently extracts Omega-3 fatty acids without applying excessive heat and/or chemical solvents. Thereby, this process eliminates the possibility of the formation of any isomeric or other unwanted by-products, of exposure to contamination and of residual solvents in the end product.
